Founded in 1857, Glenwood is truly Flint's historic cemetery, listed on the Michigan Register of Historic Places in 1989 and the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. A tour of Glenwood reveals spectacular funerary art and architecture with the legacies of notable citizens alongside the memorials to many who made Flint home through the generations.
Today, visitors are welcome every day from dawn to dusk. Walkers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts also are welcome to respectfully enjoy the grounds. Parking is available next to the house at the main entrance and along any of the interior roads while allowing other vehicles to pass. Families and visitors are encouraged to honor their loved ones, tour the variety of funerary art, and explore the collection of trees, each of which is identified as part of being a certified arboretum.
